It's a Full Of Love Life I lead

I had a few minutes to stop and think about the last few months and I realized just how blessed I have been with visits with friends I don't get to see all of the time.  I've had time with CA from Denver (and Molly and Erin too but they've gotten to be a regular part of my life despite the distance - a blessing I never expected),

KS came to visit,

Murph came to visit,

I got to celebrate my niece's 13th Birthday (geeze 13 already!!!??),

(and check out this sunset!!),

LG and I got to spend some coveted time together, including a great concert (sorry for this horrible pic LG - why do I have crazy eyes going on?),

and of course time with these two ragamuffins:

Up next is a visit from some MN friends I never expected to come visit, a Maroon 5 concert and final Chelan trip of the year with the Feeny girls, and a trip to Key West/SOBE with CB.  That means I've seen all of my far away girls (except BJ who I will have to wait to see next spring) and have gotten time with my local friends and family as well.

Plus, have I mentioned a trip back to the DR in the near future?  Yeah baby.

Who am I to complain for a moment about my Full Of Love Life.

Tune Tuesday - on repeat

I know I put Ben Rector songs on a Tune Tuesday not all that long ago but this is the one that is currently pulling at my heart strings.  I can relate to the lyrics in a way that makes me nervous right now, but more on that for another day down the road.

If you are in Seattle, he is going to be playing in town tomorrow.  I don't think the concert is sold out.  GET A TICKET.  He's coming to other cities too.  Find him.  Listen to him.  Adore him like me.

This has been a public service announcement.

Tune Tuesday - a message from my parents

I went to a OneRepublic/Sara Barielles concert last week.  Admittedly, I went mostly to see Sara but I've heard OneRepublic songs recently and found myself really enjoying them.  I was not at all disappointed by either act (or the opening one for that matter).  One of OneRepublic's songs hit me specifically and I've been listening to it off and on since the concert.

The song is written for the front man's son and I really believe the sentiments expressed are exactly what my parents would put in a song for my sister and I if they were song writters.  One can only hope to not be afraid of taking life for all it has to offer.

Contentment in the tornado (Part 2)

It's amazing to me how often the sermon at church reflects directly on what I'm dealing with in life.  I wrote my entry last week about being content and what do you know but Sundays sermon was titled Be Content.  Oh God.  You silly minx you.

I can't figure out how to put the video here so here's the link:

Tune Tuesday - the voice

I have fallen in love with Adam Levine because of watching The Voice the past three seasons (I think it's been three).  Before The Voice I new about Maroon 5 but I wasn't a huge fan and I never could have told you the name of their front man.  The Voice changed all of that.  I saw Maroon 5 in concert this spring and I'm going to see them again in a few weeks.  You could say they are probably one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite, groups.

On top of introducing me to my buddy Adam, The Voice has also introduced me to a number of artists of whom I've become a fan.  Cassadee Pope was definitely one of those artists.  She has just released her first single and I love love love it.  Who doesn't have an ex or two you look back on and think - geez, why did I waste my energy being sad about this person?  I have some who the tears were well worth but I have others who I now think, "what was I thinking?".  Usually those are the men for whom I've fallen in love with their potential rather than the man they actually were.

Here's Pope's video.

(PS - I want her hair.)
