How old is too old?

In the past three days I have been set up on blind dates with a 45 year old and a 42 year old. Beeing 29, having just come out of a relationship with a 22 year old I am wondering is that too old?

Too old = when they say things like "oh, you wouldn't remember that, it wasn't your time.." Too old is when they were graduating college while you were entering middle school and calling things "rad" and "awesome." Too old is when the person you're dating went to school with either one of your parents (think Monica and Tom Selleck's character on Friends).

Too old... is also kind of a state of mind. If the guy is right, age won't matter and things will click for you... until then, too old is what you think it is...

Mom and Dad wouldn't let me set you up with Todd (Who is 43) and you said that is to old too. Let see when he's 70 you'll be what? 56. Mom's age. Imagine Dad being 70. Do you think that's to old?

One more thing, I thought 22 was a bit to young!

I know, there's so much to juggle! I'm in the same boat and I'm hoping it's one of those God things where we can trust he will point out a false confidence in a relationship. I know sometimes I think a relationship is good because the person meets certain standards of mine (ie: age), but not others completely. It's harder than I thought to come up things I won't give on. My dad told me once that the list shouldn't be more than four or five qualifications. Do you think trusting God to give us the all clear (or, you know, at least with the clarity he ever gives) is realistic? If so, I guess that means we go on a lot of dates?

For a lot of women I meet, there is a threshold between 40 and 45 that they have to contend with. Some say it is around 43. Of course there is my friend Dan, a doctor, who met and married the woman of his dreams. She was 23 on their wedding day. That was 10 years ago and they are still married. Is 42 or 45 too old? Shouldn't it depend upon the 42 or 45 year old? Think of him as 20 plus 22...

Ok, my little sister married a guy in his 40s (16 years difference i think), and I have to say, age is all in the mind. I cannot begin to imagine Ken (bro in law) with someone "his own age". It just wouldn't work. He has youthfulness... Go for what fits in your heart, not the year he was born.
